Our Intent

Ramsey Junior School recognises and values the importance of Physical Education. Our curriculum intent is to provide fun, high quality lessons, which inspire our children to enjoy, excel and succeed in a range of physical activities and competitive sports. Physical education ensures that pupils develop confidence and competence in their physical abilities, supporting pupils to feel positive, develop resilience and be motivated to fulfil their potential. We aim to develop a love of sport and physical activity, so children appreciate the overall well-being and physical and mental health benefits of leading active lifestyles - now and in their future.

It is our intention to build a curriculum that enables children to develop their knowledge, skills and vocabulary in a broad range of physical activities, whilst promoting the six transferable life skills using the School Games Values: Teamwork, Determination, Respect, Honesty, Self-belief and Passion. Our curriculum demonstrates a clear progression of skills. Inter and intra-school competitions, in addition to a range of enrichment activities, promotes healthy competition against either themselves (personal best) or other children, in addition to the importance of leading active, healthy lifestyles.
